Old 97's Kick off First National Headlining Tour in Support of "Blame It On Gravity"

It has just been announced that Old 97’s will kick off a headlining tour in support of their much-anticipated new album, Blame It On Gravity, May 30 in Houston, TX. Find out when the 97’s will be coming to your town by checking out the chart below and stay tuned for updates about purchasing your tickets.

Blame It On Gravity, the band’s seventh studio recording, will be released May 13 via New West Records and is the band’s first album in 4 years. Blame It On Gravity finds the band turning up the amps and returning to the satisfying crunch of its early records.  Well known as an explosive live act, the band is excited to present these new tracks on stage. 

In addition to the tour dates, the band is gearing up for several in-store appearances in support of Blame It On Gravity.  The band will be in Houston at Cactus Music on May 15 followed by Waterloo Records in Austin on May 16.

Is the final tour list the one that's up now? Because I might be making a trip from Detroit to Chicago in June if that's the case, though I'd rather the boys just COME TO DETROIT. =(

Please make sure that show happens!

Last time I went to a 97's show in SLC, my wife (then my 20-year-old girlfriend) tried to sneak into the bar for the show with a fake ID and got turned away. I was a horrible boyfriend and stayed at the show rather than consoling my spurned gf. All is well eight years later - but she needs to see this show for some closure. :)

I'm extremely excited about seeing the band play in LA in April. However, my daughter, who is student at UCLA, (and also a big fan) will be in DC over the summer and she was wondering if the band is planing to play there.  By the way, I saw the guys in DC in 2004 and they performed to a sold out crowd at the 9:30 Club.
