Thanks to "from the plaines." You understood my point. The band and every citizen of this country has a right to their opinion. I just can't support someone whose ideals and values are so adverse to my own. And, no, it isn't that different than not seeing a movie because of an actor's sexuality or social opinions. It's exactly the same. But, at some point, you have to take some kind of stand for what you think is right. For me, it means I don't see Susan Sarandon movies and don't by Dixie Chicks' music. It's not like I disown everyone who votes differently than me. But, they didn't just say they are voting for this guy. They are actively working to put him in office by participating in this event. In November, you have one vote, but the popularity of actors, musicians, etc., in our society does have an impact and you vote for them every day!!! And, Tom, NO, I don't think Obama has the power to undo all I hold dear and I didn't say that. I said Obama stands for undoing the things I hold dear. As you know, an American president isn't a dictator and doesn't have ultimate control but a president does have power. Just one example--- have you seen Obama's speech outlining his plan to disarm our military? What do you think would happen if he somehow succeeded? Can you speak Chinese? Our freedom would be nonexistent. It's an easy decision not to support the 97's because of this but not a painless one. I'd much rather listen to them than Lee Greenwood or Toby Keith. I think Wayne Newton is a Republican? Maybe he'll drop a new album soon. Respectfully, Kara Lee
