    Des Moines

Would love to see the boys in Des Moines.  Some local people have organized a music festival called 35/80 (DM is where these 2 major Interstates intersect).  Flaming Lips, Andrew Bird, Roots, Yonder Mountain String Band have all committed.  I think it would be a perfect venue for Old 97s!!

Have you or has anyone seen Andrew Bird perform? What's he like on stage?

    Re: Des Moines

I've seen Andrew Bird in a small theater setting. At the time, I had only heard one song by him and I liked it, then I saw his show which was pretty incredible...nothing like I've ever seen before. I don't think the experience would be the same outdoors for his type of show, but he is a heck of a performer and I'm sure he works out all the kinks.  But overall... I think the intimacy is key for most of his stuff more than a band setting. It's usually him and a drummer playing off of each other with lots of loops and layers. I was amazed at how great it all sounded  I've got decent video from the show I saw..I've been meaning to put a couple on Youtube soon.

Oooh....! See, I figured he'd have something special. Would you mind sharing a link to your video?

Oh--wait, meaning you have it but haven't uploaded it. Duh. Sorry. Do you have any other fun videos of shows you have uploaded?

I don't think Charlie Louvin will be opening in DM.  Any idea if there's going to be an opener?
