Trying to get my hands on Singular Girl

Trying to complete the iTunes collection of Old 97's tracks and am desperately seeking a copy of the bonus CD that came with Satellite Rides. I have SR, but not the bonus tracks. I'm particularly interested in "Singular Girl" ... any help?

    Thanks!

P.S. What other rare tracks are floating around out there that are must-haves for Old 97's fans?

Hi Clay.  I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but Rhett released Singular Girl on The Believer, his 2nd solo album.  If you're looking for a copy by the Old 97's, I'm not sure.  As to your other question, I've heard that there are bonus tracks attached to BIOG, but I'm not sure if it's on the iTunes version, or the vinyl, or what.  The copy that I bought at the store didn't have any on there.  Hope this helps.

I'm not sure if it's rare, but do you have stuff like Beer Cans and No Doubt About It? I think those are from the Too Far to Care era. They've had a lot of songs on complilations. You can check hitbyatrain.com for a pretty good list.

One of my personal favorites is Jack the Necrophiliac. I only have a live version of it though. I don't know if there's a studio version of it.

I hope you crash your momma's car.

Re: Trying to get my hands on Singular Girl

Just found "Singular Girl" and bought it off ebay! It's on the 2001 CD "Turn the Radio On" college radio sampler.

    Track Listing:

    1. King of the World

    2. Book of Poems

    3. Up the Devil's Pay

    4. Singular Girl (Unavailable on CD)

Don't know about Beer Cans or No Doubt About It though ... ANYONE?

I'm still looking around for Mythologies, Murry's first two solo albums (there were two, right?), and Sleepy Heroes.

    Any help here?

Murry told me truly 'bout a girl who's a-moving on.

E-Bay periodically has a copy of Mythologies on it. It's worth checking every now and then.

Re: Trying to get my hands on Singular Girl

Just wanted to report that the "original" version of Singular Girl has been in heavy rotation in my car and on my iPod since it arrived via ebay. Worth the wait ... "YOU'VE GOT THE TEETH OF THE HYDRA UPON YOU ..."

Re: Trying to get my hands on Singular Girl

Not sure about Rhett's view on this one or the piracy aspect of it but since the album isn't being pressed anymore you can find it by Googling for a torrent of it.

Sorry, I didn't realize I wasn't quoting someone. This post references Rhett's old solo CD "Mythologies" and not the bonus CD that came with Satellite Rides.

    Go over to http://www.hitbyatrain.com/downloads/index.html

At the bottom of the page are some great "rare" tracks, including Beer Cans.  It is an official, unofficial site site for the band.
